Saddle Up The Tour Bus, I’m Off…

14 Jan

ChicklishThis week I’m off on a blog tour, whizzing around the internet talking about all sorts of things related to Me, Suzy P. I’ve got my rider ready (red M&Ms only, Wensleydale cheese, some cute Labrador puppies to play with) and I’m kicking off at the fantastic Chicklish website. Chicklish has a place very close to my heart, as I used to review on this site many moons ago. It’s run by the lovely Luisa Plaja, who writes great teen books you should check out.

I’ve written a blog post for the Chicklish Gimme Five! slot, so head over to the website here where you can find out my top five influences for Me, Suzy P.  There’s also a chance to see a very funny video where a large dog takes an old lady for a walk. It will make you laugh. Guaranteed.

Tomorrow I’m visiting the site of Bookster Reviews. Get those M&Ms ready, guys…

Baby Badger on CBeebies

Karen on TV

My name in the TV listings, woop!

If you follow me on Facebook you might have seen my giddy excitement and mass postings about my book being on CBeebies. Seeing Baby Badger’s Wonderful Night being read on TV last night was an amazing – and very surreal – experience.  The husband was very exciting at seeing my name in the TV listings, and took a picture for posterity. However, Tornado Toddler bought me crashing right back to earth when I was saying we were going to watch Mummy’s book on TV, and he was insisting he’d rather watch Peppa Pig.

Floella Benjamin did a fantastic job reading it (although you’d expect nothing less from a TV legend). It was slightly unreal watching someone you used to watch when you were young saying words you wrote out loud. I loved what they’d done with the illustrations too, which looked beautiful, especially the way the stars were twinkling.

If you missed it, you can catch up with it on iPlayer here although I’m not sure how long it’ll be up for. Enjoy!

(I also want to say a huge thank you to all my friends who posted about it on Facebook and Tweeted it too. Your support is greatly appreciated…)

The fantastic blog at Reading Away the Days is hosting a Debut Authors of 2013 event and I’m delighted to have been asked to be part of it.

My interview will be going up on Sunday, January 1st, 2013, so keep an eye out for what I’ve got to say about Suzy P, my writing background, and how I’m utterly unable to be pinned down to picking a favourite anything…
